What is BIO-ALCAMID ?

BIO-ALCAMID is an injectable prosthesis. It is highly innovative and safe as is does not contain any component of animal origin. For the first time, there is now a product made up almost entirely of water (96%) ensuring that the implant is very soft to touch. Indeed, once the product has been injected it has almost exactly the same consistency as the surrounding tissue.

Is the implant of BIO-ALCAMID painful ?

Bio-Alcamid , like any substance that is injected, provokes some pain during the injection which is usually tolerable. In any case, your doctor may use a local anesthetic, if necessary.

What happens after the implant of BIO-ALCAMID ?

The injection of Bio-Alcamid induces the development of a thin, collagenic capsule thanks to a natural and physiologic process. Bio-Alcamid , is thus contained within this capsule giving rise to a true prosthesis which can be eventually removed later, following a simple and not particularly traumatic procedure.

Immediately after the injection there may be some slight redness in the area but this disappears after a few minutes and you will be able to use make up without any problems.

Nevertheless it is advisable not to expose yourself to ultraviolet rays (UVA and UVB) for at least 45 days after the implant.

How long does BIO-ALCAMID last once it has been injected?

Bio-Alcamid , in normal conditions, is a permanent implant unless you decide to have it removed.

Of course, the cosmetic effect created with Bio-Alcamid cannot last forever since as time passes the skin ages and the tissues change position and shape.

Nevertheless, if new defects develop, these can be corrected again even after some time.
